Akis’ Balcony: Quality fish meze for everyone

    The famous Akis Skandalis knows the sea. And honors it. Being a fisherman himself – but also a friend with other Parian fishermen – he has secured something unique for his restaurant: the best fish on the island, in wonderful versions and at even more wonderful prices. However, this does not mean that the menu does not include delicious meats from the plain of the island, vegan choces for vegetarians or cooked meals for the most traditional.

    His tavern is located in Aliki, and unfolds its action on a picturesque pier, where the visitor is given the opportunity to dine literally on the sea and under the starry Cycladic sky. Unbelievable but real. The unparalleled view, the deep knowledge regarding the proper utilization of a fish head to tail, and its steady course over the years, have rightly launched the Akis’ Balcony to the top of the choices of foreign and Greek visitors.

    Work is flourishing, you see it in their fatigue. The whole kitchen goes through the most capable hands, who masterfully make refreshing carpaccio, refreshing tartare and ceviche. Cuttlefish barley is a revelation, light as a cloud, well-cooked and delicious. His spaghetti, unforgettable, with spaghetti a wonderful yellowish sauce with turmeric attached to it, iodine flavor even on the nose.

    Everything here is handmade, from the cheese croquettes to the flutes, the pumpkin meatballs that are fantastic and whose recipe is hidden like a seven-sealed secret. The whole restaurant is an optimistic iodine setting that deserves to be caught by its masts. And then there’s the wine list and the spirits: everything you need to relax and indulge in your dinner – it has it all.

    For the sweetest ending, Akis reserves a treat of cool watermelon-melon or yogurt with a dessert. If you go you will go again (it’s so good!)
