Marmitta: Unique gastronomic nights in Naoussa

Marmitta is emancipated from the cliché “food by the sea”, sailing in the hinterland of Naoussa, in an optimistic green setting that is worth visiting. Every year, the charismatic chef and owner Elias Avgeriou is inspired by the local raw materials, tradition and natural landscape, creating authentic Greek dishes reminiscent of family Sunday dinners.

This is enhanced by its space, a wonderful garden-contract with with pergolas, airplants, imagination, love and passion. Because if anything is inextricably linked to summer, it is having a glorious dinner under the starry Cycladic sky.

Its menu has something for everyone. Each dish is characterized by a perfect, modern presentation making you wish it never ends! The land and the sea merge into delightful dishes such as the braised veal – tender and delicious – the T-bone steak, pumpkin meatballs with feta and spices, epic stuffed tomatoes (an eternal greek delicy), but also linguine with shrimp and tomato sauce, steamed octopus with capers, pickles, cucumber and pepper. Every year the menu is reinvented, in order to keep the interest of the yearly guests sharp.

Some of the popular local products of the island which are never absent are the iconic revithada of Paros, xinomyzithra cheese but also suma, the local tsipouro. In its cellar, important labels of Greek vineyard are also hosted, for the absolute food-pairings and for the sweetest ending, don’t forget to ask what they have in store for you that day.
